LACNIC 44: Connectivity, Standards, and Current Issues on the Event Program

By Maria Gayo, Communications Manager at LACNIC

From 6 to 10 October, the Latin American and Caribbean Internet community will gather in El Salvador for LACNIC 44 – LACNOG 2025. This meeting will provide a space for collaboration and learning, as well as an opportunity for content innovation and conversations about the most relevant technical challenges in our region.

One of the most anticipated panels will address the challenges of last-mile connectivity in communities with limited access. Inspired by the reality of El Salvador and the experiences of other countries, this panel will be moderated by Lito Ibarra, Internet pioneer in El Salvador, member of the LACNIC Board of Directors, and founding president of SVNet. Joining him will be Rodrigo Najarro (Secretariat of Innovation of El Salvador), Marco Luna (Indigenous Community Telecommunications, Mexico), Executive Director of Conexión El Salvador and Board Member of ISOC El Salvador, and Pablo Ruidiaz Morales (InteRed, Panama), who will share experiences and challenges in bringing the Internet to rural, remote, or underserved communities, while exploring technological solutions for bridging the digital divide.
