By Paula Oteguy, Multistakeholder Engagement Coordinator at LACNIC
As part of the LACNIC 42 LACNOG 2024 event that will take place in Asunción, Paraguay, from 7 to 11 October, we are excited to announce the first Internet Governance Workshop. This activity has been scheduled for Tuesday, 8 October, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and is specifically designed for the technical community.
The workshop aims to highlight the importance of technical expertise in Internet Governance. Participants will learn how the Internet works, the key actors involved, and how protocols and policies are developed. We will also discuss the evolution of National and Regional Initiatives (NRIs), the governance programs promoted by LACNIC, and work on a multistakeholder negotiation exercise.
The workshop will be led by a distinguished group of experts from the technical community, academia, and NRIs. Their experience and knowledge will provide attendees with deep, practical insights into Internet Governance.
The workshop is part of the event’s program, and everyone is invited to attend. Remote participation will also be possible, and simultaneous interpretation into Spanish, English, and Portuguese will be available. Click here for more information.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn how your technical role can have an impact on Internet Governance.
We look forward to your participation!
