I currently work as a DNS Architect at Tucows Domains—one of the world’s largest domain registrars—, where I am developing a unified DNS management and publishing system for the company’s various business units, which maintain a portfolio of eleven million domain names.
From late 1999 to 2023, I was part of NIC Chile, the .CL domain name registry. There, I held several roles in DNS operation and development, eventually focusing on areas such as DNS and Internet research and measurement, DNS protocol, and new IETF standards. I also led the project for automating DNSSEC key management at .CL, using CDS technology.
I’ve actively participated in various organizations that are part of the Internet ecosystem, including ICANN, LACTLD, and LACNOG, where I currently serve as Chair of the DNS Working Group. Highlights of my activities at the regional level include LACTLD’s Anycast Cloud and the Latin American DNS Observatory.
I also serve as a Trusted Community Representative and participate in the root key generation and signing ceremonies performed by the IANA in the role of Cryptographic Officer.
