IPv6 Tour

Venezuela, Panama, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador are the first countries to be visited this month by LACNIC’s technical and policy teams for the purpose of informing governments and the private sector about the IPv4 depletion phase in Latin America and the Caribbean and the need to use Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).

LACNIC teams will meet with national authorities and representatives of major Internet service providers in each country to share the latest available information and plans for the deployment of Internet Protocol version 6, the only solution that will allow the Internet to maintain its current growth rates.

During 20014, the IPv6 Tour will visit each of the countries within LACNIC’s service region.
