Paraguay Welcomes Professionals from across the Region to Discuss the Future of the Internet

The city of Asunción (Paraguay) will welcome the Latin American and Caribbean Information Technology community to discuss Internet development, analyze its present and future, and share best practices and experiences.

The LACNIC 42 LACNOG 2024 event will be held in a hybrid format from 7 to 11 October at the Conmebol Convention Center. As usual, the event will be streamed live and simultaneous interpretation into Spanish, English, and Portuguese will be provided. Given the significance of this meeting of experts, the event has been declared of technological interest by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology of Paraguay (MITIC).

The event will feature tutorials and technical workshops led by specialists, LACNOG (Regional Network Operators Forum) sessions with presentations by more than 20 speakers from across the region, and the Public Policy Forum.

Additionally, LACNIC meetings have become a valuable networking space where participants can connect and engage with other professionals and companies.

Connectivity in Mediterranean Countries. The central panel at LACNIC 42 will focus on the challenges and opportunities land-locked countries encounter in their pursuit of efficient and accessible connectivity. With the presence of five experts on the subject, the panel will analyze experiences and strategies implemented in various countries in the LAC region.

Internet in Paraguay. On Wednesday, 9 October, a session exclusively for in-person participants will be held. During this session, participants will discuss the operation of the Internet in the host country, including topics such as local interconnection, IPv6 deployment, and routing security.
