17/12/2013
According to the 2013 Great Place to Work (GPTW) ranking which is prepared based on feedback from those working with the organizations participating in the competition, LACNIC, the Internet Address Registry for Latin America and the Caribbean, is one of the best companies to work for in Uruguay.
This year, the organization responsible for managing Internet resources within the region took the second place in the overall ranking prepared by international consulting firm GPTW.
This is the second consecutive year that LACNIC is recognized as one of the top ten places to work. This time, LACNIC has moved up the ranking – in 2012 Great Place to Work ranked our organization in fifth place.
“This recognition makes us very proud, especially because it represents the opinion of our own employees. This result, even better than last year’s, shows LACNIC’s high level of commitment to the open and collaborative creation of an excellent workplace environment. The commitment and effort of each member of our organization are the key to the success we are achieving in different aspects of our activity,” noted Raul Echeberria, LACNIC’s Executive Director.
Felix Fernandez, LACNIC’s Human Resources Manager, added that “this recognition is for all those who are part of this organization and work with professionalism and rigor towards an open, stable and secure Internet in benefit of the economic, social and cultural development of Latin American and the Caribbean.”
The Great Place to Work awards are presented each year in more than 45 countries, and in 2013 LACNIC ranked among the top 10 companies to work for in Uruguay. The analysis performed by Great Place to Work is the most in-depth and well-respected study on workplace excellence and leadership practices. Since 2003, it publishes a ranking for Uruguay based on the same methodology it applies worldwide: surveying employees about the confidence level and the quality of the relationships that exist between them and management, and evaluating company policies and business practices.
LACNIC is the Latin American and Caribbean Network Address Registry, a non-government organization headquartered in Uruguay since 2002 serving more than 30 countries around the region. LACNIC contributes to Internet development within the region through an active cooperation policy, promoting and defending the regional community’s interests, and helping create conditions that will allow the Internet to become an effective instrument for social inclusion and economic development in benefit of all Latin American and Caribbean countries and citizens.
