LACNIC in Haiti: 10 Years, 10 Members

During the 4th LACNIC in the Caribbean event that took place in Port-au-Prince, Haiti we had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the School of Sciences of the Haitian State University (Faculte des Sciences, Université d’Etat d’Haïti). Our visit allowed us to see the temporary classrooms that were built so that students could continue their studies after three buildings collapsed during the terrible earthquake of January 12, 2010.

The main reason that led us to visit the School of Sciences was a meeting with members of its Board of Directors to sign the LACNIC service agreement through which this organization became our tenth member in Haiti and the fourth to receive an IPv6 allocation in this country. We are very pleased by the fact that Haiti continues to grow together with LACNIC.
