Training is a fundamental component of the value LACNIC offers its members and a meaningful contribution to the technical development of the Internet in Latin America and the Caribbean. In an environment where network operations demand continuous updating, LACNIC Campus supports those who design, manage, and operate networks by providing accessible, up-to-date learning opportunities aligned with real operational challenges.

Through LACNIC Campus, we offer courses in key areas—such as IPv6, network security, routing, and network operations—designed with a strong practical focus and content tailored to the needs of technical teams. The goal is to enable better decision-making, anticipate risks, and effectively address real operational challenges. These training initiatives help strengthen the region’s Internet infrastructure, fostering more secure, stable, and sustainable networks.

In addition to individual courses, the Campus provides specialization tracks organized into progressive levels (basic, intermediate, and advanced), allowing participants to plan their professional development over time and, if desired, obtain certification.

For our members, this translates into expanded training opportunities for their technical teams. As part of the value of LACNIC membership, they can access all courses at no cost—including intermediate and advanced levels—supporting training and specialization within their organizations.

In 2025, nearly 8,000 active learners took part in 31 course editions (enrolled participants who effectively began their training). Among them, 40% chose IPv6-related courses—an essential component for the continued evolution of the Internet in the region—and 50% completed the training process by taking the final exam.

Moreover, more than 80% of those who took the final exam were LACNIC members. Overall, 3,015 members made use of this benefit in 2025, representing an estimated value of USD 1.2 million in specialized training delivered to the membership at no cost.

Most importantly, this support is sustained over time and continues to expand year after year, as the training portfolio is adjusted to the needs of the region’s technical teams.

Strengthening Technical Skills: A Sustained Commitment

This is a long-term effort: for more than a decade, we have been promoting technical training and skills development within the community. Over time, LACNIC Campus has evolved into a space for practical, up-to-date learning, designed to address the real needs of professionals who operate and manage networks across the region.

Beyond the numbers, the purpose is clear: training enhances the value of membership, expands opportunities for specialization, and translates into tangible capabilities that directly impact the day-to-day operation of networks throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
