The technology for protecting Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) is a key aspect of Internet infrastructure.
This protocol protects against potential attacks by digitally signing data in a way that allows making sure they are valid.
During his participation at LACNIC 21, Richard Lamb – a security expert with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) – highlighted the significance of DNSSEC and how important it is to certify the validity of the website addresses a user visits.
In dialogue with LACNIC News, Lamb noted that we must strengthen the processes in place for protecting the Domain Name System.
