Ernesto Majó
Ernesto Majó is Deputy Executive Director at LACNIC, where he works to build collaborative and productive working relationships across the organization and articulates institutional relations, regularly representing LACNIC in Internet governance forums and processes as well as within the various industry spaces.
Ernesto has held positions of growing leadership, always contributing to LACNIC’s development and consolidation, while at the same promoting the strengthening and continued development of the regional community. After having joined the organization in 2003 as the first coordinator of the FRIDA Program, he served as Acting Executive Director from June 2014 to February 2015.
Among other roles, he has been responsible for managing the relationships and communications with the different stakeholders, articulating institutional cooperation projects and their funding, developing alliances, and the external training program.
Before joining LACNIC, Ernesto held positions of responsibility in the management and operation of institutions involved in technology transfer and research in the Uruguayan agricultural sector. He was also a consultant for the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).
