No entanto, certos comportamentos an\u00f4malos, como a gera\u00e7\u00e3o excessiva de mensagens de atualiza\u00e7\u00e3o -conhecidos como envio excessivo de mensagens <strong>updates<\/strong>&#8211; podem desencadear instabilidade, consumo desnecess\u00e1rio de recursos e afetar a converg\u00eancia global da <a href=\"http:\/\/red.en\">rede.<\/a> Este documento descreve as caracter\u00edsticas, causas e solu\u00e7\u00f5es associadas aos roteadores BGP ruidosos, complementadas por uma reflex\u00e3o final sobre a situa\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a>O que \u00e9 um <em>Noisy BGP Speaker<\/em> (um roteador BGP ruidoso)?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Refere-se a roteadores que emitem atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es BGP excessivas (rotas) devido \u00e0 instabilidade, configura\u00e7\u00e3o ruim ou falhas no software. Este comportamento gera:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Flapping<\/em> de rotas: rotas que aparecem e desaparecem repetidamente (route flapping).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carga alta na CPU: os processadores dos roteadores ficam sobrecarregados ao lidar com o grande n\u00famero de mensagens UPDATE.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Converg\u00eancia lenta: o tempo necess\u00e1rio para a tabela BGP se estabilizar aumenta consideravelmente.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consumo de largura de banda: as mensagens BGP Updates s\u00e3o bastante pequenas, mas quando ocorrem com frequ\u00eancia, podem saturar a interface de peering.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instabilidade: um alto <em>churn<\/em> pode levar a ciclos de converg\u00eancia prolongados, perdas tempor\u00e1rias de rotas e, em casos extremos, desconex\u00f5es de sess\u00e3o BGP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a>Quando um roteador \u00e9 considerado um <em>Noisy BGP Speaker<\/em>?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Um roteador BGP \u00e9 considerado um &#8220;Noisy BGP Speaker&#8221; (falante BGP ruidoso) quando gera um volume excessivo e desnecess\u00e1rio de mensagens de atualiza\u00e7\u00e3o (BGP updates), causando instabilidade ou &#8220;churn&#8221; na rede. O sinal mais evidente de um roteador ruidoso acontece quando um roteador anuncia e remove repetidamente um ou mais prefixos de rede em intervalos curtos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a>Causas de um <em>Noisy BGP Speaker<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Bugs<\/em> de aplicativos: falhas de software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Configura\u00e7\u00f5es erradas (foi comunicada a falta de <em>update-source<\/em>) que geram uma avalanche de atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Problemas com o equipamento: hardware defeituoso, falhas de energia ou ataques DoS podem desestabilizar as sess\u00f5es BGP (e isso, em segundo plano, gera muitas mensagens BGP <em>updates<\/em>).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a>Algumas solu\u00e7\u00f5es para os BGP ruidosos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Filtragem de rotas: remove atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es desnecess\u00e1rias ou indesejadas provenientes de vizinhos.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Configura\u00e7\u00e3o correta: usar *update\u2011source* para o emparelhamento em interfaces <em>loopback<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identifica\u00e7\u00e3o e corre\u00e7\u00e3o de erros: detectar e corrigir falhas do hardware e software que causam atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es excessivas, geralmente mediante remendos do provedor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Configura\u00e7\u00e3o de limite de prefixos recebidos pelo <em>peer<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Dampening<\/em> do BGP, embora reduza o <em>flapping<\/em> mediante penaliza\u00e7\u00f5es, sua implementa\u00e7\u00e3o padr\u00e3o n\u00e3o \u00e9 mais recomendada, uma vez que pode causar atrasos excessivos na converg\u00eancia global.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recomenda\u00e7\u00e3o moderada: ajuste dos temporizadores. Modificar os temporizadores BGP (MRAI, keepalive) permite gerenciar a frequ\u00eancia das atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es de forma mais eficaz.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Origem dos dados e f\u00f3rmula de identifica\u00e7\u00e3o aplicada<strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foram usados dados dos coletores de RIPE NCC identificados como: RRC24 (Montevid\u00e9u, UY) e RRC15 (S\u00e3o Paulo, BR), tomando todas as atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es a partir do m\u00eas de mar\u00e7o de 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Com base no n\u00famero de atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es e no n\u00famero de prefixos anunciados por cada ASN, foi calculado um fator de instabilidade ou <em>Churn Rate<\/em> para medir o ru\u00eddo corretamente:<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"179\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fig1-noisy-bgp-speaker-pt-1024x179.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33662\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fig1-noisy-bgp-speaker-pt-1024x179.png 1024w, https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fig1-noisy-bgp-speaker-pt-300x52.png 300w, https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fig1-noisy-bgp-speaker-pt-680x119.png 680w, https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fig1-noisy-bgp-speaker-pt-768x134.png 768w, https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fig1-noisy-bgp-speaker-pt-1536x269.png 1536w, https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fig1-noisy-bgp-speaker-pt-2048x358.png 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Processamento dos dados<strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Os dados foram processados \u200b\u200binteiramente usando Python 3 e com o aux\u00edlio de bibliotecas como mrtparser, pandas, numpy e matplotlib, o que permitiu a consolida\u00e7\u00e3o e categoriza\u00e7\u00e3o de mais de 2,222 bilh\u00f5es de mensagens BGP em um per\u00edodo de 48 horas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a>Estat\u00edsticas de estabilidade<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>ASN \u00fanicos detectados<\/strong><\/td><td>86.398<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Prefixos \u00fanicos totais<\/strong><\/td><td>1.436.539<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Total de mensagens BGP<\/strong><\/td><td>2.222.981.835<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>M\u00e9dia (ASN &#8211; \u00cdndice de ru\u00eddo)<\/strong><\/td><td>1.547,45<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Mediana (ASN &#8211; \u00cdndice de ru\u00eddo)<\/strong><\/td><td>234,18<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(m\u00e9dia 6 vezes maior que a mediana)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DISTRIBUI\u00c7\u00c3O DA POPULA\u00c7\u00c3O DE ACORDO COM O COMPORTAMENTO E A ATIVIDADE BGP<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Um ponto importante \u00e9 que o conceito de &#8220;Noisy BGP Speaker&#8221; n\u00e3o est\u00e1 definido em nenhum manual ou documento t\u00e9cnico (bem, certamente existem v\u00e1rias descri\u00e7\u00f5es), ent\u00e3o tivemos que criar nossa pr\u00f3pria defini\u00e7\u00e3o. Para isso, a estat\u00edstica nos ajuda, e constru\u00edmos esta escala para obter diferentes n\u00edveis de &#8220;ruidosos&#8221; com base no \u00edndice de ru\u00eddo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>CATEGORIA<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>ASN<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>%<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Est\u00e1veis (&lt; Mediana)<\/td><td>43.199<\/td><td>50<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Inquietos (Mediana a M\u00e9dia)<\/td><td>41.650<\/td><td>48,2<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Ruidosos (M\u00e9dia a 100x Mediana)<\/td><td>1.530<\/td><td>1,77<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Cr\u00edticos (&gt; 100x Mediana)<\/td><td>19<\/td><td>0,02<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nota metodol\u00f3gica: Para as an\u00e1lises de distribui\u00e7\u00e3o geogr\u00e1fica e volum\u00e9trica apresentadas nas se\u00e7\u00f5es posteriores deste documento, os termos &#8216;Ru\u00eddo BGP&#8217; ou &#8216;ASN ruidosos&#8217; s\u00e3o usados \u200b\u200bgenericamente para agrupar toda a popula\u00e7\u00e3o que apresenta desvios em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 linha de base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A tabela acima pode ser lida da seguinte forma: todos os ASN cujo \u00edndice de ru\u00eddo \u00e9 menor que a mediana s\u00e3o est\u00e1veis. Os ASN que se encontrem entre a mediana e a m\u00e9dia s\u00e3o considerados inquietos. Alguns est\u00e3o sob a cust\u00f3dia dos 5 RIR, mas outros ainda est\u00e3o sob a cust\u00f3dia da IANA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nas imagens a seguir, pode-se observar que, entre os 15 pa\u00edses com maior n\u00famero de ASNs ruidosos, aparecem Brasil e Col\u00f4mbia, da regi\u00e3o da LACNIC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" analisamos os ASN que geram mais ru\u00eddo no IPv4 e IPv6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Compara\u00e7\u00e3o de estat\u00edsticas do IPv4 x IPv6<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure cr\u00edticos \u00e9 maior no IPv6 do que no IPv4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Considerando todos os ASN do estudo, pode-se observar que o top 15 no IPv4 \u00e9 principalmente de ASN
