{"id":4272,"date":"2015-03-02T13:51:48","date_gmt":"2015-03-02T13:51:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/prensa.lacnic.net\/news\/2015febmaren\/grants-for-research-projects"},"modified":"2023-08-03T14:27:21","modified_gmt":"2023-08-03T14:27:21","slug":"grants-for-research-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/en\/grants-for-research-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Grants for Research Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Regional Fund for Digital Innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean has opened a call for proposals for its 2015 Grants program, which provides funding for ICT projects related to Internet development in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2015 FRIDA Grants program is now receiving projects under two basic categories: research projects and ICT development projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For each project, FRIDA will provide up to USD 20,000 (twenty thousand US dollars), to be executed within a maximum period of twelve months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Projects may be submitted under four categories: a) Devices, infrastructure, and technologies. Accelerating and expanding access; b) Creating and developing skills and content for sustainable human development; c) Mobile Internet for social inclusion, growth, political participation, and active citizenship; d) Internet for promoting, guaranteeing, and exercising Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make it easier to prepare the proposals, we will be offering online workshops in the months of March and April.
