The media explosion surrounding these technologies has captured the public\u2019s attention\u2014often accompanied by fear, misunderstandings, and oversimplified explanations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to this reality, LACNIC will offer a dedicated session at <a href=\"https:\/\/lacnic43.lacnic.net\/en\">LACNIC 43<\/a>, focused on what matters most: the practical application of AI in network management and operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This session\u2014the first of its kind at a LACNIC event\u2014will be titled <a href=\"https:\/\/lacnic43.lacnic.net\/en\/programme\/agenda\/plenary?day=09\/05\/2025&amp;name=artificial-intelligence-and-machine-learning-in-networking-applications-and-perspectives\"><em>Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Networks<\/em><\/a> and will be divided into two parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding: 0;\"><\/p><p style=\"padding: 0;\"><\/p><p style=\"padding: 0;\"><\/p><p style=\"padding: 0;\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One part of the session will dive into machine learning, led by Christian Rothenberg, a researcher at the University of Campinas. Participants will learn how techniques originally developed for tasks such as price prediction and image classification are now being applied in network environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Carlos Mart\u00ednez, LACNIC&#8217;s Chief Technical Officer, will address generative artificial intelligence\u2014the technology that has captured the world&#8217;s attention with models capable of creating text, images, or code from a simple prompt. The focus will be on the practical applications of these tools to solve real challenges in network operations.
