In a few weeks, S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil will host one of LACNIC\u2019s annual events<\/a>, bringing together top-level experts delivering tutorials and presentations on cutting-edge topics in Internet technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artificial intelligence will take center stage in several sessions, including a keynote that will explore the importance of standardizing the Internet. Participants will have free access to ABRINT<\/a> national meeting \u2014held simultaneously at the same venue\u2014by simply presenting their badge, further expanding networking opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artificial Intelligence<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

AI will be discussed from the perspective of the challenges and opportunities it presents for Data Centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The panel will feature industry leaders Rafael Astuto (Ascenty), Frederico Neves (Nic.br), Dante de Alc\u00e1ntara (Telxius), and Heubert River (Cirion), who will share how key infrastructure providers are responding to the increasing energy demands, advanced cooling requirements, and the ongoing evolution of infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tom\u00e1s Lynch will moderate a panel<\/a> covering connectivity, sustainability, and the future direction of data center technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are interested in diving deeper after Tuesday\u2019s panel, be sure to attend Kaique Peres\u2019 presentation at the LACNIC Technical Forum<\/a>, where he will examine the hidden risks of AI and the security vulnerabilities found in chatbots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To wrap up the week, join us for a dedicated session on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in networks<\/a>. The discussion will include practical use cases, shared experiences, and key insights into how these technologies are reshaping network management and operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The Latest in IPv6 and Routing Security<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

LACNIC events are known for offering a wide range of tutorials that help Internet professionals stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and best practices. As in previous editions, the IPv6 networking tutorial will be a highlight. Alejandro Acosta from LACNIC and Eduardo Barasal from NIC.br will lead practical demonstrations on how to prepare networks for an IPv6-only environment, as well as cover basic configurations such as NAT64 and Reverse Proxy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, two tutorials will focus on BGP routing security, providing valuable insights into securing network infrastructures. The first session will cover the main challenges and threats in BGP routing\u2014such as route hijacks and route leaks\u2014along with the tools available to mitigate them, including RPKI and IRR. The second session will be a practical lab dedicated to secure routing and origin validation. Participants will gain hands-on experience configuring validators, implementing filters, and automating processes with Ansible in a virtual environment. A specialized tutorial will also be offered on BGP Routing Security using RPKI in delegated mode, with practical exercises using Krill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paolo Lucente and the Importance of Internet Standardization<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are honored to welcome Paolo Lucente as a keynote speaker. His presentation will highlight the crucial role of Internet standardization in today\u2019s evolving digital landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paolo is currently serving as Principal Network Tools Developer at NTT Data, where he focuses on network telemetry data collection and analysis. With a solid background in network operators, he combines deep technical expertise with a strong interest in the economics of traffic exchange on the public Internet. Join to understand why, in a world of short-term results and indifference to data standardization, Internet standardization remains highly relevant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Networking with Professionals from Across the Region<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the key strengths of our events is the opportunity to connect with industry peers from all over the region. Whether during coffee breaks in the meeting areas, at social events, or through our dedicated networking tool, Conecta.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time, participants will also have free access to the activities of ABRINT, the largest ISP event in Brazil, which will take place alongside LACNIC 43. In addition, those registered for the ABRINT event will be able to attend the presentations and commercial expo at LACNIC 43 at no cost starting on Wednesday, May 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important to highlight that all participants\u2014both on-site and virtual\u2014will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As is tradition at the May edition, the LACNIC Technical Forum<\/a> will feature presentations selected from a broad range of submissions. The agenda will also include the Public Policy Forum<\/a>, the LAC CSIRTs conference and training<\/a>, and the Peering Forum.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
