{"id":24890,"date":"2024-03-11T14:59:03","date_gmt":"2024-03-11T14:59:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/?p=24890"},"modified":"2024-03-12T12:33:39","modified_gmt":"2024-03-12T12:33:39","slug":"improving-regional-internet-registry-alignment-in-the-rpki-space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/en\/improving-regional-internet-registry-alignment-in-the-rpki-space\/","title":{"rendered":"Improving Regional Internet Registry alignment in the RPKI space"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.lacnic.net\/en\/author\/sofia-silva-berenguer\">Sof\u00eda Silva<\/a>, RPKI Program Manager, NRO<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program background<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Strategic Review Process which started in 2022, the NRO agreed to work toward providing a robust, coordinated and secure Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) service as one of the main priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RPKI Steering Group, comprised of routing security experts from all of the Regional Internet Registries, collaborated to de\ufb01ne the job description for the RPKI Program Manager and a global search was conducted in 2023. In the shorter term, the NRO RPKI Program aims at providing a more consistent and uniformly secure, resilient and reliable RPKI service to help remove barriers currently experienced by network operators who create RPKI objects through multiple RIRs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[CFA] Do you create and manage RPKI objects through more than one RIR? We want to hear from you (&lt;mailto: <a href=\"mailto:rpki_program@nro.net\">rpki_program@nro.net&gt;)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What&#8217;s been happening?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve been working with the Steering Group on developing a set of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to describe the more speci\ufb01c outcomes that we would like to achieve in 2024. We will soon share these OKRs through the RPKI Program page ( &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nro.net\/technical-coordination\/security\/certification\/#rpki_program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resource Certi\ufb01cation (RPKI) <\/a>), and the Steering Group will be working on an implementation plan to achieve those outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[CFA] What do you think we should be working on?
