LACNIC has scheduled two tutorials and a workshop for members of the community participating in the LACNIC 36 – LACNOG 2021 meeting, a hybrid event that will be held on 11 to 15 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The October meeting will be LACNIC\u2019s second event of the year and will offer training opportunities to learn more about Operation of IPv6 Networks<\/em> and Interconnection and Routing Security<\/em>, as well as an ROA Creation Contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The IPv6 Network Operation<\/strong> tutorial will be held on Monday, 11 October and will be presented by instructors Alejandro Acosta, Uesley Correa, and Jos\u00e9 Cot\u00faa. This activity seeks to promote IPv6-only networks. It will be held entirely online, and instructors will discuss various transition mechanisms such as 464xLAT, NAT64\/DNS64, and SIIT-DC. As usual, it will include both theory and a show-room style practice session that will allow participants to watch as these mechanisms are presented live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A tutorial on Interconnection and Routing Security has also been planned for Monday. It will be coordinated by Erika Vega, Nicolas Antoniello, Santiago Aggio, and Guillermo Cicileo, who will explain the basics and analyze the business relationships and technical aspects of Traffic Exchange, Peering, and CDNs. The workshop also will also discuss how, with whom and where to peer; what type of traffic exchanges to use; how to analyze network traffic to make better interconnection decisions; where to register peering sites and policies, as well as best practices regarding the use of BGP in peering. It will also provide an overview of the latest tools and best practices in Internet routing security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
