LACNIC’s L\u00edderes Program<\/a> has published the projects on Internet governance which were selected for its 2020 call. These 16 research projects are linked to three thematic axes: Internet and pandemic: the impact on human rights; digital inclusion; and security and trust. The call sought to gather new voices with geographic diversity and current thematic approaches. The winners presented their results in multiple formats, such as reports, videos, podcasts and infographics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevon Swift, Head of Strategic Relations at LACNIC, emphasized that L\u00edderes Program<\/a> Call for Proposals identified problems arising from the growth in the use of the Internet and technologies, and sought to select proposals that would address these issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program highlighted detailed studies on the implications of the above-mentioned issues in countries such as Haiti, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Uruguay. All results are available here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We hope that the reformulation of L\u00edderes Program will allow us to contribute to the digital transformation and value voices that today have no space in the regional debate,” said Swift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new approach prioritizes underrepresented communities and aims to disseminate findings and concrete elements that can improve the lives of citizens of the region and the world, and to act as a repository of relevant information open to the wider community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, L\u00edderes<\/a> plans to make a second call to consider other initiatives and encourages the participation of all those research projects that for various reasons were not selected previously.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
