The Forum will be opened by Tom\u00e1s Lynch and Ariel Weher,\nco-chairs of the Forum, who will explain the dynamics for the online discussion\nof the four policy proposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfirst policy proposal will be presented by Edmundo Cazarez. This proposal seeks\nto eliminate the requirement for applicants to return the addresses they have\nbeen assigned by their providers once they receive a direct assignment (<a href=\"https:\/\/politicas.lacnic.net\/politicas\/detail\/id\/LAC-2019-10\/language\/en\">LAC-2019-10<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fernando\nFrediani will then share a proposal regarding the modification of the time\nrequired before a policy proposal can be presented at the Public Policy Forum.\nThe proposal seeks to extend this time from one to two weeks (<a href=\"https:\/\/politicas.lacnic.net\/politicas\/detail\/id\/LAC-2019-8\/language\/en\">LAC-2019-8<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nthird proposal is promoted by Jordi Palet and Edwin Salazar and includes a\nseries of guidelines for the acceptable use of the Policy list. The authors\npropose that list participants should have explicit knowledge of what can and\ncannot be done on the list, as well as potential penalties for breaches of\nthese rules (<a href=\"https:\/\/politicas.lacnic.net\/politicas\/detail\/id\/LAC-2018-13\/language\/en\">LAC-2018-13<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally,\nFernando Frediani will present the proposal on adding operational IPv6 as a\nrequirement for IPv4 transfers. Frediani proposes that, in order to transfer\nIPv4 addresses, an organization must prove that IPv6 is operational in its\nnetwork (<a href=\"https:\/\/politicas.lacnic.net\/politicas\/detail\/id\/LAC-2020-1\/language\/en\">LAC-2020-1)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An\nopen-microphone slot will be reserved for each of the proposals during which\nparticipants will have the chance to share their comments and questions.
