The Latin\nAmerican and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC) has been included\non the 2020 list of best places to work in Latin America. The organization was\nranked 24th<\/sup> in the Small and Medium category. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is\nthe first time that Uruguayan companies are recognized on this list,\u201d said\nKarina Urrutia, Head of Communication and Marketing at Great Place to Work Uruguay.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ranking\nis based on data collected before the coronavirus crisis broke out. The\ncompanies that are part of the list are leading the way amid the pandemic and\nare showing concern for their employees, their customers and their communities\nduring this difficult situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe\nCOVID-19 pandemic is a challenge facing organizations across the globe, and it\nputs a premium on being a people-first, inclusive culture,\u201d said Michael C.\nBush, Global CEO of GPTW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In turn, LACNIC CEO Oscar Robles said that at LACNIC they\n\u201cstrive to create a climate of respect, communication and trust, not only\nbecause it is nice to work in this type of environment but also because we are\ncommitted to offering an environment that will favor the professional\nperformance of our collaborators and therefore ensure the achievement of our organizational\ngoals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GPTW’s\nglobal research shows that companies worldwide aspire to build a high-trust\nculture, but the road to that goal has regional variations. In Latin America,\nthe best places to work stand out for creating psychologically safe workplaces\nfor everyone, regardless of each employee’s hierarchy. They also recognize that\ntwo-way communication with leadership is extremely important, as is the\nfundamental sense of care among colleagues and employees\u2019 ability to do their\nbest when doing their jobs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When a\ncompany goes to great lengths to create safe workplaces in the midst of a\nstorm, employees give back by bringing out the best in themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this\nsituation, creating safety is particularly important, as employees and\ncompanies struggle to deal with the economic and health challenges created by\nCOVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
