With nearly 800 registered\nparticipants and a change of format, the 2020 edition of the online course\ntitled \u201cIntroduction to Network Management\u201d is preparing to go live on the\nLACNIC Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration<\/a> to participate in\nthis digital training activity designed by LACNIC will remain open until 25 May.\nThe course is set to begin on June 1st<\/sup> and participants will have\ntime to complete the modules until 24 August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This training course on network\nmanagement is geared towards the entire Latin American and Caribbean Internet\ncommunity and takes place once a year. This time, students will be able to complete\nthe different modules based on their own availability. Considering last years\u2019\nexperience and the results of the satisfaction survey (92% favorable\nresponses), LACNIC has implemented participants\u2019 request to open all the\nmodules from the start, without having to wait twelve weeks until presenting\nparticipants with their certificates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The self-paced course includes twelve\nmodules and has been adapted so that students can complete more than one module\nper week. \u201cStarting with this new edition, the twelve modules will be available\nfrom day one so that students can go through the course at the time of their\nchoosing. Participants who pass the final exam with a minimum score of 70% will\nreceive their certification,\u201d said Mariela Rocha, training specialist at\nLACNIC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mariela Rocha explained that\nparticipants can also complete one module per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She noted that this is an\nintroductory course on network management, designed for those who are starting\nout in networking, persons who have never worked with networks, or advanced students\nof information technology careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, 1,174 students registered\nfor the course, 58% of whom completed the activity. This is a significant\ncompletion rate for an online self-paced course, LACNIC’s training specialist\nadded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More courses. <\/strong>The Campus will also offer\nthe second edition of the English version of \u201cIntroduction to IPv6<\/a>,\u201d a course that seeks to\nsatisfy the growing demand for training of students and professionals in the\nnon-Spanish speaking countries of the region. This course is geared towards\nnetwork administrators, software developers, equipment vendors, students and\nteachers. Registration closes on 22 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the Campus will also\noffer the second edition of the \u201cBasic IPv6\u201d<\/a> course, which will be\ntaught in Spanish. There is time to register until 25 May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LACNIC Campus has become a\nleading regional training center on topics related to Internet security, the\nIPv6 protocol, resource certification and network development.  Last year,\na total of 7,642 members of the community participated in the 15 editions of\nthe various courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
