On\nWednesday 6 May, LACNIC 33<\/a>\nwill hold the LACNIC\nTechnical Forum,<\/a> the space for the regional\ncommunity to share and discuss the latest Internet related technologies and\ntechnical implementations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this\ncase, given the online format of the event, nine presentations have been\nselected from among the more than 30 proposals submitted by the technical\ncommunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These\npresentations by regional and international Internet professionals will address\nissues such as routing security, BGP, network technology, DNS, RPKI, and other\nrelevant topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nForum will be divided into two 2-hour sessions. Speakers will\nhave between 10 and 20 minutes to present; the rest of the time will be used\nfor questions submitted by participants through the \u201cQ&A\u201d section of the Zoom\nplatform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of\nthe Selection Committee was to prepare a varied agenda for the LACNIC\ncommunity.  \u201cThe speakers have broad\nexperience in their fields,\u201d noted Mariela Rocha, member of the Committee and\nTraining Specialist at LACNIC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite its\nonline format, the Forum will maintain its spirit and transcription will be\noffered in three languages \u200b\u200b(English, Spanish and Portuguese).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentations. <\/strong>Those who\njoin us for LACNIC 33 will be able to attend nine presentations.Massimo\nCandela will present his research on Easy<\/em> BGP Monitoring with BGPalerter<\/em>; Jos\u00e9 Camargo will present an Alternative Low-Cost Solution for\nControlling Volumetric Attacks in Latin America<\/em>; Hugo Salgado will share\nhis work on SGA-1 and Algorithm Rotation\nin DNSSEC<\/em>; Richard Hummel will share with the audience his research titled Understanding the Cyber Threat Landscape,\nNETSCOUT 4th<\/sup> Biannual Threat Report & 15th<\/sup> Annual\nWISR Survey<\/em>; and Tim Bruijnzeels will present the project Trends in RPKI Deployment <\/em>where he will show the evolution of RPKI in the\ndifferent regions since its early stages.  In addition, Agust\u00edn Formoso will present his\nresearch titled De-Bogonizing 2a10::\/12<\/em>\nwhich studies how the Internet reacts when a new block is assigned to an RIR;\nClaudio Risso will share his work on Designing\nOptimal iBGP \/ MPLS Topologies for ANTEL’s International Network<\/em>; Javier\nMore will share his experience on Microwave\nand Fiber Optic Transport Networks and Radio Spectrum for the Deployment of 5G\nNetworks in Peru<\/em>; and Karen O’Donaghue will give her presentation titled The Road to Deployment: Network Time\nSecurity<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
