MiLACNIC: New Features to Improve Management and Strengthen Security
16/06/2025

By Alfredo Verderosa, CSO/Chief Services Officer
At LACNIC, we continue to enhance MiLACNIC—our service management portal for members—to make it easier, safer, and more efficient for each organization to manage its resources. Alongside the existing improvements, new features have been added to make the platform more user-friendly and better aligned with the needs of our member organizations.
Custom Notifications
We have introduced a new notifications module that allows users to customize alerts based on their interests (like ROAs or reverse DNS), membership-related activities (such as elections or events), training opportunities and scholarships on LACNIC’s CAMPUS, and updates from mailing lists (including announcements, policy forums, LACNOG, among others).
Organizations can now decide what kind of updates they want to receive and how—whether by email, WhatsApp, SMS, or other channels—through a new settings panel available in MiLACNIC.
Request Progress Tracker
Detailed updates on the progress of IPv4 address requests are now available. This feature outlines each stage of the process, shows the current status, and highlights the upcoming steps—providing greater clarity and predictability throughout the procedure.
New Version of the RPKI Module
The RPKI module has been updated with a new feature that allows the potential impact of an ROA on global routing to be previewed before it is applied. This feature improves decision-making and minimizes operational risks related to routing security.
Co-Administrators: More Security, More Flexibility
It is now possible to assign co-administrators to IP blocks. This feature enables multiple users to manage resources independently, using their own credentials instead of sharing access. This results in stronger security and improved traceability of actions.

Bulk Operations Module
Created for organizations managing high volumes of resources, this module allows multiple updates through a fast, centralized process—reducing errors, saving time, and increasing operational efficiency.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
We are moving forward with the mandatory rollout of two-factor authentication (2FA) for MiLACNIC access. Starting in March 2025, this requirement will apply to organizations in higher membership tiers, 96% of which have already adopted it. This measure is part of a broader campaign to raise awareness around digital security and aims to better protect the critical information of our members.
With these new updates, MiLACNIC continues to evolve as a strategic platform for strengthening the connection between LACNIC and its members. These improvements not only strengthen security and simplify resource management but also respond directly to the real needs of our member organizations. We remain committed to innovation and to continuously improving the user experience.
